Springpoint Structural is a structural engineering firm with a well-established portfolio of projects and clients throughout Virginia and beyond.  We are located in Charlottesville, Virginia – a beautiful college town on the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains - with easy access to Richmond and the Washington, DC area.

Structural Designer

We are looking for a structural designer with an EIT license who has 0-4 years of interesting and diverse experience.

Duties will include structural engineering analysis, design, and detailing for new construction, building renovations, and historic preservation; Revit/CAD documentation; coordination with architectural and other clients; existing/historic building surveys, assessments, and reports; and various other tasks.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. BS degree in Civil Engineering (MS degree in Structural Engineering preferred), or a combination of education and experience deemed to be equivalent.

2. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated interest and ability to think creatively about all types of construction.

3. Ability to perform structural observations and existing condition surveys, including potentially physically demanding activities.

4. Experience in working with Revit/AutoCAD.

5. Interest and experience in historic preservation is preferred.

Structural Engineer

We are looking for a structural engineer with a PE license who has 4-8 years of interesting and diverse experience with the ability to grow towards project management.

Duties will include: structural engineering analysis, design, and detailing for new construction, building renovations, and historic preservation; Revit/CAD documentation; coordination with architectural and other clients; existing/historic building surveys, assessments, and reports; and various other tasks.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. BS degree in Civil Engineering (MS degree in Structural Engineering preferred), or a combination of education and experience deemed to be equivalent.

2. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated interest and ability to think creatively about all types of construction.

3. Strong experience in the structural design and analysis of concrete, steel, wood, and masonry as well as working knowledge of Revit/AutoCAD.  

4. Ability to perform structural observations and existing condition surveys, including potentially physically demanding activities.

5. For Structural Engineer position, registration as a Civil Engineer (PE) in the State of Virginia, or registration in another state with ability to apply for reciprocity in Virginia.
